It is always a good feeling to see people you haven’t seen for a while at a wedding, it makes them more like a family get-together and somehow makes them even better.
Oakfield Farm was the venue for Jomarie and Jerry’s wedding celebrations – one of my favorite venues because of all the wedding photography opportunities and we had it all to ourselves.
When someone contacts you and says they want to capture the moment when they get engaged I get goosebumps, the chance to photograph something like that is really special. And if you know the person, it makes it even better. Emile and Sam got engaged a few days ago, the whole thing was set up to be a shoot similar to the ones we normally shoot with Sam when i do my photography mentorship sessions or the photography workshops. When Sam’s mom Fleur-Riette called me about it, even though this was super late notice and I was so busy, I couldn’t say no.
There are two kinds of wedding processionals – those where the bridesmaids take 3.2 seconds to cover the 50 yard dash, I mean walk down the aisle, and those where the wedding party takes 10 minutes to dance their way to the altar. I prefer the second option because you get enough time to take pictures and it’s just so much fun!
