I spent a large part of the day today with the team from Foster Wheeler in Midrand. They were repairing all sorts of things for the Miriam Makeba rehabilitation centre for girls in President Park. Painting, installing a water tank to collect rainwater from the roof, hanging doors, laying carpet – the list goes on.
These guys are amazing – I had goosebumps watching them get stuck in on their Saturday off and giving something back to the center.
This is the second Financial Times dinner i have shot, always cool to be in the same room as the high flyers :-)
I’ll be shooting their wedding in December just before we close for the year, so we met up at Irene Farm for some fun in the sun and storm clouds. The aim of the e-sessions is fun – showing the couple a few basic poses that will make it easier on the day and just to relax and enjoy the time together :-).
Last week the forecast was for rain for a few days in a row and after having to cancel an e-session, I was a bit worried about Julia and Troy’s wedding. Being at a golf course meant that there would not be a lot of undercover shooting areas other than the club house or the proshop if it did rain.
On Saturday I covered the Pharmacists Summit Exhibition and the various talks during the day as well as the Dinner event that evening. It was a loooong day, from 7:30 to 9 that evening.
