I was booked 3 or 4 weeks ago by Gerrit, I did not know the full story, but it turns out a previous couple of mine are friends with Gerrit and Chantell and when he told her that he fired his photographer after seeing their e-session pictures she said “Have you seen my photographs!” and that was all it took, I was hired the next day without so much as a meeting. Thanks for trusting me Gerrit :-)
I managed to shoot 2 photobooks before they were wrapped for their owners to collect. The first was for Marcia and Kyle and the second was a 21st birthday book for Cara.
Every now and then i get the opportunity to shoot a family session for couples whose weddings i shot.
Trevor and Melina now have a second little one so they called me in to capture their family at their home. I must say i have never seen someone so young make an espresso – you go Callum.
I have shared memories both good and bad, thousands of lamb lunches squashed around your table, freezing cold motorbike rides with the golden oldies – things i can never replace and would never want to have missed. My live would definitely have been emptier without them and without both of you. Robin, i know in heaven you are riding your “pushy” without ever getting a flat tyre. I know you have a fleet of gleaming BSA’s and when you ride them, you are filled with the joy that only the feel of riding a motorbike can give you: the wind in your hair, the throb of the engine and the bugs in your teeth.
Before a Portuguese wedding I am thinking to myself that it is just going to be a crazy day. Lots of family, lots of noise, lots of love. Check, check, check – times a billion, everything I expected and more.
